The product is specially formulated to create a non-shrink, non-metallic, chloride and nitrate free grout. Small amount of water is mixed to ensure early strength and long term durability. The selected composition of silica sand enables homogeneous blending and minimizes separation.

APPLICATION
For horizontal application, apply well-mixed ARDEX BG 40 GP to the prepared surface at a thickness of 10 mm to 40 mm in one layer. For vertical applications, reduce the ratio of water to a drier consistency.
For placement of more than 1 layer, the surface of the intermediate layer should be scratch-keyed prior to the application of subsequent layers. Application of the next layer may proceed as soon as the previous layer has fully set. Consistent with cementitious toppings, it is essential to allow ARDEX BG 40 GP to cure naturallly in ambient conditions.
Protect ARDEX BG 40 GP against rapid drying due to strong wind and direct sunlight or high temperature by covering it with poletylene sheet, or wet hessian.
MIXING
Place specific amount of water into a clean container. Slowly add the contents of ARDEX BG 40 GP (powder) and mix with a slow speed drill fitted with a paddle type mixer blade of approx. 3−5 minutes until a homogenous and lump-free consistency is achieved.
COVERAGE (Yield)
Semi Precast (Trowelable): Approx. 12.5 litres/25 kg when mixing with water volume of 3.3−3.5 litres.
Flowable: Approx. 13.5 litres/25 kg when mixing with water volume of 4.25−4.5 litres.

PACKAGING
ARDEX BG 40 GP is packed in paper sacks incorporating a polyethylene liner – net weight 25 kg.
STORAGE
This product must be stored in unopened packaging, clear of the ground in cool dry conditions and be protected from excessive draught.
If stored correctly, as detailed above, the shelf life of this product is 12 months from the date shown on the packaging.
